I remember when my son, Trey, was 3 years old. His grandfather (Big Daddy!) had bought him his first pair of cowboy boots. They were his pride and joy.
He had dressed himself and was so excited to show me that he could put his boots on by himself. He boldly announced, “Me put my boots on.” I looked and realized he had put them on the wrong feet. I smiled and said, “Good job, but you put them on the wrong feet.” He was very indignant and quickly told me, “It’s the only feet me got.”
Can you think of a time when you were misunderstood. Did you react, or did you respond?
